I am Hearing, my Name is Dee
In 1996 I met my first deaf group at a chruch I attended with a friend. I found out that the deaf were bored and not get...See Moreting anything from the music all the hearing people were enjoying. I felt God touch me that day and I soon entered College and started studying ASL. I felt a passion to bring music into the lives of people who can't hear with their ears. I gave up my medical career to pursue my calling.
I studied ASL for 8 years, I commuted to Ohlone College two days a week for 2 years while holding a full time schedule at another college 50 miles away. I signed for deaf church in Plesanton for a while too.
One day after my teacher Brian Malzkuhn showed me a video of a Deaf woman who looked just like me and she signed just like me, it changed me forever. That day I was so inspired to work even harder to master ASL so I could bring music to the deaf. I work two summers at the deaf school in Fremont and learned a lot about storytelling. I work hard to do what I do today and it seems there are a few or maybe just one individual who wants to try and stop me from bring the joy of music to the deaf.
I say...God gave me this gift and I'm going to share it with you all! I gave in 2000 because I couldn't find anyone who understood my vision, I didn't know how to get my music to the deaf nation wide. I was hurt by a few people and stopped.
This time, I'm not giving up! I will bring as many video's as I can to share with you.
People who don't love my work, not going to stop my efforts to bring you the best video's I can in hope I can touch hearts and souls that need to be incouraged, feelings healed, dreams inspired, or just to watch for fun.
I hope you support me by comment where you can on my video's to keep me incouraged too.
I will upload my video's again soon..Sorry... they must have been deleted during the change of the new site.
God Bless
Dee
