#1 Gallaudet Dance Company celebrates 70 years with blockbuster show
Gallaudet Dance Company (GDC) is hosting an exciting new dance show! “Family Reunion: Celebrating 70 Years of Dance” features choreographers and performers from GDC history, including Gallaudet’s own Bison with Attitude and MotionZ, as well as performing arts groups Sign of Da’ Times and Gallaudet Alumni Dancers. #2 Pioneering theatre production Meat Expectations opens at Gallaudet
Meat Expectations, a new musical comedy created by Deaf playwrights and starring Deaf actors, will run at Gallaudet April 17-27. The script was developed entirely in ASL using innovative technology, and the show is full of Deaf culture lore and jokes. #3 PBS documentary spotlights Deaf President Now role in passing ADA
Gallaudet’s Deaf President Now (DPN) movement helped pave the way for disability rights in America. Change, Not Charity: The Americans with Disabilities Act is a new documentary by PBS about the history of the ADA. The producers and director brought the film to Gallaudet for a special screening in recognition of the role Gallaudet played in the ADA’s passage.
#4 Asian and Pacific Islander Deaf artists featured in new exhibition
A new art exhibition at Washburn Arts Center spotlights 18 different artists with Asian and Pacific Islander heritage! Visit the show to experience gorgeous landscapes, intriguing abstract art, fascinating photography, and more. Check out the story to learn more about the Co-Chairs and how the exhibition came to be.
#5 2024 Annual Report of Achievements released
