FAA Hiring Scandal

In 2014, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) changed how it hired air traffic controllers to increase diversity. Before, candidates often came from the military or special college programs and had to pass a tough test called the AT-SAT. The FAA replaced this with a new questionnaire that asked personal questions, like the lowest grade they got in high school science. Many qualified candidates failed this new test, leading to a lawsuit called Brigida v. Buttigieg. The case is ongoing, and the FAA has faced criticism for possibly lowering hiring standards. Link
