In 2014, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) changed how it hired air traffic controllers to increase diversity. Before, candidates often came from the military or special college programs and had to pass a tough test called the AT-SAT. The FAA replaced this with a new questionnaire that asked personal questions, like the lowest grade they got in high school science.
