The National Association of the Deaf and Howard A. Rosenblum have parted ways. Howard served as the NAD Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for 13 years and was dedicated to the Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, Hard of Hearing, and Late Deafened communities. During his tenure, Howard led the NAD to expand its programs to maximize its services to our Communities. In addition, he also served as the NAD Director of Legal Services where he expanded our legal and policy capabilities, directly leading to many precedential litigation and transformative policy initiatives.

We will soon announce plans for our search for the next CEO. In the meantime, we have two staff members handling CEO duties and internal operations until the NAD Board appoints an Interim CEO. The NAD will establish a search committee to find our next CEO; the search will begin after the NAD Conference in Chicago. During this transition, we will continue to provide important services to the communities such as policy, advocacy, youth programs, litigation, conference planning, and more.

The NAD Board received a report of the internal review conducted by outside consultants. An action plan is underway. We are committed to sharing information about the review within the next few weeks.

Thank you for your support.
