Conversations about death and dying happen too infrequently in our death-phobic culture, and so do conversations about addiction. These are truly among some of the most important and needed conversations for us to have, however. When we talk about death and the uncomfortable, often emotional, accompanying aspects of death, this promotes resilience, helps us process our grief, and strengthens our mental health. When we talk openly about addiction, this helps us understand and learn what we can and cannot do to support our loved ones who struggle with addiction. Jarlene shares her experience of suddenly losing a sibling who had a history of addiction, and then witnessing his organ donor journey after death. #death #organdonation #addiction
