What is Sharenting?

Of course, parents (as well as caregivers, grandparents, and anyone with children in their lives) enjoy sharing about their children. It’s important to keep in mind that this seemingly innocent practice can eventually come back to hurt children in different ways.
Research shows that sharenting can impact mental health, creating anxiety and depression, in addition to feelings of inadequacy and low self-esteem. Identity theft of children’s data is also a huge risk. In some situations, the parent is sharing for their own benefit, without considering how the constant online exposure affects their children. An example would be a parent posting excessively in order to earn money from hits on social media. #sharenting
