Religious Trauma Syndrome: Tamera’s Story

Religious trauma refers to the psychological, emotional, and sometimes physical distress that some people may experience as a result of their involvement in a religious or spiritual system. It happens when religious beliefs, practices, or institutions cause significant harm that has lasting negative effects on a person's well-being. Anxiety, depression, and identity issues are a few of these effects.
Deaf people who experience religious trauma can face additional stress due to the small size of the Deaf community and the difficulty of finding support.
Tamera shares her experience with religious trauma, and her path to healing. #religioustrauma #religioustraumasyndrome
