2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV) For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. When you become a new creation person, you become the righteousness of God in Christ. This is now your new identity. Here’s some good news: God exchanged your sin for His righteousness! This is important because this is the way God is relating to you today – according to your new identity as the righteousness of God in Christ. Not only did the sacrifice of Jesus provide forgiveness of sin, but it also provided the righteousness of God.
