Our Deaf community is in a mental health crisis. There are not enough signing therapists and there's so much red tape to go through with the system.

Alabama, surprisingly, has one of the best mental health services for the Deaf. In this interview, I chat with Steve Hamerdinger, the current Director of Deaf Services for the Alabama Department of Mental Health, on how the system works there and how other states can hopefully follow using their model.
