ON-SCREEN TEXT: Inspired by true events.

Sheena is standing in front of a cruise terminal trying to find her cruise ship, Sheena is dressed for a vacation.

SHEENA: Okay, I need to find “Forever,” but all of these ships look the same to me. Oh, perfect, I see someone I can ask.

SHEENA: *waves at employee* *gestures that she’s deaf then shows their phone.”

ON-SCREEN TEXT: “Hi! I’m a passenger looking for the Forever cruise. Can you help?”

EMPLOYEE: *reads phone’s screen and then points at ship* Your ship is over there! Right beside the Queen!

*Flashback to when Sheena bought the cruise ticket*

SHEENA: I need a vacation! Oh, I could do a cruise!

Sheena goes to browse online for available cruises.

SHEENA: Oh, a week in the Bahamas! Sold! But wait, I need to let them know I’ll need a sign language interpreter.

ON-SCREEN TEXT: *sends an email asking for interpreters*

ON-SCREEN TEXT: *later*

Sheena is excited at first before slowly becoming disappointed.

Sheena mumbles “No? They won’t? I need to look for an interpreter?”

*Sheena is visibly unhappy and responds back*

ON-SCREEN TEXT: Hi! I’m excited about my upcoming vacation, but it isn’t my responsibility to search for and hire an interpreter. I’ve attached the National Association of the Deaf’s advocacy letter for Cruises for you to review. The Americans with Disabilities Act clearly states it’s your responsibility.

After Sheena sends the email, she grumbles back on the couch.

ON-SCREEN TEXT: *later*

ON-SCREEN TEXT: “You’ve got mail”

ON-SCREEN TEXT: Hi Sheena, thank you for sharing the advocacy Letter. We apologize. We’ve secured two sign language interpreters for your cruise! We hope you have a wonderful trip!

*End of flashback*

Sheena nods, signs thank you, then walks off to board on the Forever while dancing. In the background, behind Sheena, we see the employee trying to sign thank you.]
