If you are a Deaf ASL user and have never experienced a similar situation as Rosie, consider yourself lucky. Whether you call it a “2nd shift” or a “Deaf tax”, spending extra time and energy making sure other people do their jobs to schedule interpreter access for your appointments is an all too real - and exasperating - situation for Deaf people. And yes, it definitely affects mental health. ☹️
