The most common cause of dementia, Alzheimer’s disease slowly affects a person’s memory, thinking, behaviors, and social skills. As difficult and painful as it is for family members to see a loved one “disappearing”, there are sometimes moments in the earlier stages of Alzheimer’s when connections, enjoyment, and even humor occur. Arlene shares a deeply personal – and light-hearted- moment with her mother, who has Alzheimer’s.
