Tanya: Workshop planning can be tough! Especially when you have to squeeze in everything you want to talk about into a simple online proposal form?! Hats off to you! But before you submit, I’ve got some tips that may help your proposal to become stronger for the selection process! First, I want to let you know that we have a word doc template online - you can download to work on your proposal draft and save your progress until you’re ready. You can easily copy and paste everything to submit it online! Your title and description should be very specific and clear - not a general overview. Think about the audience and what would make sense to them that could help them go to your workshop. Suppose if there are two workshops, one is a workshop with a research study, and the other workshop is with demonstrations. Which workshop do you think people would likely go to? The Workshops with demonstrations - people love hands-on training that teaches them HOW to do something. Think about explaining what people will specifically learn and use - and how they’ll benefit from going to your workshop. When you finish your proposal but you would rather to share more about it in ASL, you absolutely can! Go ahead and film yourself, and upload it to YouTube. You’ll have to set it unlisted. An unlisted YouTube video will help our raters get a better idea of your plans for the workshop. That, that’s it! Good luck sending in your workshop proposal!]
