If you have a case, you might think about about replacing your lawyers with someone else. Before you do that -- here's what you need to know...

SEAN: If there is an existing case that already has a lawyer but if the deaf client wants to change attorneys or is not satisfied with the lawyer, the deaf client should discuss this with their lawyer and have their lawyer contact the NAD. The deaf client should not drop their lawyer until they find a new lawyer. Their lawyer can contact us to discuss the case. It is possible that the NAD will join as co-counsel or provide support for that case by consultation. The NAD cannot just take over a case. The original lawyer and the deaf client needs to discuss with the NAD to figure out the best option for the deaf client.
