TRANSCRIPT: Mavrick Fisher was released from jail yesterday and is now on parole. I got confirmation of this from Mavrick’s defense attorney Thomas Feimer. I do not have information of why Mavrick is released earlier than his parole eligible date of August 2021.

Last fall Mavrick went through a three-week trial in which he was charged with murdering his business partner Grant Whitaker. The jury found him not guilty of murder but found him guilty of involuntary manslaughter. Mavrick claimed he killed Grant with a rock out of self-defense, accusing him of trying to stab him with a knife. The judge overseeing the case said Grant’s death was brutal. He was sentenced to four years in state prison, but received half time credits that reduced the actual amount of days he had to serve.
He was in the Lake County Jail for the majority of the time but in February was moved into the custody of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, specifically at the North Kern State Prison. He was there until his release.
