Alex:
Hello! I want to make a special message in support of people in Austin. I’ve been in touch with Cesar Rocha, who has worked very hard with his organization, Access to Activism. He has visited many different homes where people needed help. He said he’s frustrated now because when he visits stores to buy water and milk using funds donated to him, he cannot buy any because the stores are empty. He’s tried to get more supplies but simply can’t.
[Image and video of Cesar Rocha at a HEB supermarket in the early morning. There are many shelves completely empty. Cesar explains that he went to HEB at 6:30 in the morning. He says, “But there’s nothing. It’s empty. People are here and scrambling for supplies.”]
Cesar Rocha:
It’s completely barren. I talked with a manager to see if I could get pallets of water. But they said no.
Alex:
Cesar said he was deeply touched last night when a man named Aaron Shoemaker from the Atlanta, Georgia area — with the organization called “All Hands On” — made a trip to donate a large batch of supplies, like water bottles.

Cesar:
I was blown away. This saved deaf people in Austin. So, there are many deaf mothers and children who really need milk. Aaron arrived at 9 pm and my team sent out the milk to mothers in need last night, from 11 pm to 1 am, but now we need your help. I’m asking people who are outside of Texas, if you can bring supplies, we need many, many water bottle packages and we need many milk. So, how do you contact us? Contact Access to Activism. We will take care of it from there.
Alex:
If you want to help, but can’t drive, you can donate money at their PayPal. I’ll show you the information.

Alex:
Cesar did invite me into a group chat within Access to Activism and I saw that there were over 25 people exchanging information about where they could find milk, water, or whoever needed help, where hotels were open. They are really doing the work.
Cesar:
Our people drove to Hutto, Georgetown, Buda, Spicewood, and the surrounding areas. I’ve drove 100 miles ever day.

Cesar:
Some electricity is back. Some water is back, but the water is dirty. But for food and milk, it’s not here. It might finally arrive next week or in two weeks. Everything is delayed. So… I just can’t describe it. It’s overwhelming.
Alex:
So, that’s what he has been doing. Thank you for your support. My hat off to Cesar and his group for being heroes and giving back in this time of emergency, which is still an ongoing situation.
