How Self-Editing Improves the Writing Performance of Signing Adolescent Deaf Students.
This presentation reviews the findings of a study that investigated the impact of student use of a rubric on the writing performance of adolescent deaf students who used American Sign Language as a primary means of communication. Writing performance indicated that the tool was most effective when students talked with an adult about their use of the rubric. Students also evolved in the language they used to describe their writing.
