TRANSCRIPT: Big news: President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania announced on Twitter that they tested positive for the coronavirus tonight.
There were news headlines late Thursday evening that Hope Hicks, one of Trump’s most closest and trusted aides, who often travels and meets with both Donald and Melania, contracted the coronavirus. It raised concerns and after the Trumps got tested, it was confirmed they were also infected.
Trump said he would start the quarantine and recovery process and that we would get through this together.
This will have an immense impact on America — the government, the people, politics, and the election. There’s also the coronavirus pandemic that has now hit the White House and our American president. One thing is for sure, Trump and Melania and Hope will have the best care possible with the best doctors, scientists, and support staff there is. Trump, Hope, and the First Lady are also healthy and don’t have a history of illnesses or other conditions, and since most people recover from the coronavirus, it is hopeful that they will make a full recovery. I guess they will be quarantined at the White House.
Trump did explain to Fox News this evening — before he was tested positive and when Hope was confirmed to be infected — Trump told Hannity that it was hard because there were military and police who want to meet them, and that it was hard to deny them. Trump said Hope was very warm with them as well. So it is possible they got the infection from them. Trump and Hope also doesn’t typically wear masks and the people who meet up with them don’t typically wear masks as well. That makes it easier for the virus to spread.
That’s all the news for now. We’ll have more to discuss tomorrow.
