SEAN: Your case is important. Our strategy to fight the system that discriminates against deaf and hard of hearing and takes away our rights -- we take cases that change for ALL deaf and hard of hearing people. For cases that are still important but not affect change, we always refer to experts. When we share news about a settlement or a successful win, it seems we only take a few cases but in reality, we have many on-going and pending cases that we cannot discuss or share. We also have successfully settled on some cases that don’t allow us to publicly share about the results. Instead, we communicate those wins with changes and updates through our Advocacy Letters, How to File a Complaint page, Ask Howard Anything series, and Position Statements.
Video cuts to a dark blue background. Red alphabet letters of “N-A-D” in American Sign Language appear one by one in the center of the video. The copyright text appears in white underneath, “National Association of the Deaf, Copyright 2020, All Rights Reserved”.]
