YAN: One evening, I was taking a level one bookkeeping class, the teacher wanted us to play a numbers game. The teacher said, “When you’re playing the game well enough, you will be able to understand accounting.” I thought, “Well, maybe this means I can play games during my entire career!”

LORNE: Everybody has something they’re good at. There are people who are savvy with mechanics, sewing, or chemicals. There are so many different intelligence levels, and … science is what I’m good at.

FARAH: It’s fun to design buildings! It’s fun to design something that will actually be built somewhere out there and that it was something you were a part of. It’s an amazing feeling to see that happen.

LORI: I’ve always wanted to work in a funeral home since I was in 7th or 8th grade. I thought it was a unique job and figured I’d never be out of a job, you know — people die everyday!

CARRIE LOU: When I was younger, I didn’t see myself as an educational researcher and doing data analysis! But honestly though, looking back at my life experience up until now, my journey led me to where I am today.
