Apology/ownership of "crossing the line" with independent report about KG

[Transcript] Hello, I want to make a vlog to apologize and own up to something. What is it? It’s about the independent reporter from Deaf Vee Journal (DVJ) and the article they wrote about the Kappa Gamma fraternity. They did the article at the request of “The Daily Moth.” Three weeks ago I said I would ask for an independent report because of conflicts of interest with myself being a Kappa Gamma member when I was a Gallaudet student in 2006. I couldn’t cover it so I preferred to bring in an independent reporter. So, the DVJ did their work and near the end, when it was ready to be printed, we were in touch for updates. They told me that there was an almost final draft and I had an opportunity to read it. I did read it and I did type in a sentence but then deleted it. I instead reached out to DVJ and made two recommendations. Then they did some more editing and I was not involved in that. Then they published and notified me that it was online. I read the article and saw that my two recommendations and the sentence I wrote and deleted was not there. It truly was an independent piece by DVJ about KG at TDM’s request. I apologize to you for not following through with my commitment from three weeks ago to not cross the “line.” I did read a draft, I did make two recommendations. So I own up to it and admit to it. My lesson learned is to stay with what you committed to, regardless whether you feel pressure or feel worried. You should stay committed and stay with your integrity. I admit I failed at that. Please don’t blame DVJ, they did nothing wrong. Blame me. If you have any comments or any questions, please comment and I will answer to the best of my ability.
