We are to always be solidly grounded in the orthodoxy that we have received, so we will have a foundation to stand upon as we combat false teachings. False teachers in general tell us to obey the commandments for salvation. That is not scriptural. We obey the Lord not because we need to earn our way to salvation, but because we are grateful to Him for saving us by His amazing grace.
