To our valued Customers,
This message is to inform you of DEAF, Inc.’s plan in regards to COVID-19, otherwise known as Coronavirus. There is no higher priority to our entire DEAF, Inc. Family than the safety of our Community Members, Volunteers, Customers, and Interpreters. You are likely aware of the outbreak of COVID-19 in China and the subsequently confirmed cases in the United States and other countries around the world. It is important to know that the World Health Organization has not yet declared COVID-19 a pandemic; however, DEAF, Inc. encourages you to remain cautious and aware of the status of this virus.
At this time, there is no cause for concern at DEAF, Inc., however, we will keep you informed if that should change. To be proactive, DEAF, Inc. will continue to monitor the situation and follow the guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to ensure that we have an effective preparedness and management system in place.
Prevention is a key strategy with any virus, such as influenza or coronavirus, so it is important to protect yourself and take measures against spreading to others. See the CDC’s website for the best preventive and treatment measures.
- Take general precautions such as frequent hand washing to prevent the spread of any virus.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Stay home if you are sick, except to go get medical care.
- Cover coughs and sneezes and immediately follow up with washing your hands.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily.
DEAF, Inc. remains open to the community from Monday through Friday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, however, our ASL Classes are suspended effective immediately, until further notice. If you would like to meet with our staff, we encourage you to contact us to schedule an appointment. Please call us at 314-714-6400 or email us at Link .
I hope this message addresses questions and ease any concerns you may have.
Sincerely,
