It's #NationalDeafYouthDay! Chanel, the NAD's Youth Programs Director, and Howard, the CEO of the NAD, explains why today is an important day for our #DeafYouth.
[VIDEO DESC & TRANSCRIPT: Howard and Chanel are standing in the NAD lobby. The NAD logo appears in bottom right corner as a watermark.
HOWARD & CHANEL: Hello!
CHANEL: March 6th is National Deaf Youth Day, this day is to recognize deaf people’s accomplishments and to show our deaf youth that they can do anything.
HOWARD: This year is the second year with the NAD working with deaf schools and programs to participate in the Mock Interviews. The NAD invites companies to come to their schools, so deaf youth can practice interviewing for a job. They will improve their skills, gain confidence and become more prepared for a real job interview in the future.
CHANEL: Also, we have other exciting news! We’re releasing our second annual NDYD Jr. NADmag! This online magazine will recognize individuals from different Jr. NAD chapters across America.
HOWARD: On NDYD, any deaf schools or programs with deaf youth that want to do something -- please post and share it with us! Your posts could be videos, pictures, or stories -- let us know and we’ll share it!
HOWARD & CHANEL: #DeafYouth!
