When I was in Olathe, Kansas, I was told at least 100 times that I had to stop by the Museum of Deaf History, Arts & Culture, the FIRST and ONLY independently owned and public museum about Deaf history, arts and culture in the U.S.A. (And it's run completely by volunteers, which I found impressive!)
They usually don't let filming or pictures inside, but I was able to get some sneak peeks, and I sat down with Chriz Dally, President of the MDHAC board to ask why this museum has an unique exhibit focusing not only on celebrating Deaf history, but also on our oppressive experiences, as well as how the museum can become more inclusive with more representation during their updates!
