September is National Preparedness Month — are you prepared for an emergency disaster? #FactFriday #NADFact #PreparedNotScared #BeReady

[VIDEO DESC & TRANSCRIPT: Black and white video of Neil standing.

NEIL: We'll be discussing emergency preparedness since September is Emergency Preparedness month. Today, we will focus on power. Everything we use to communicate with each other efficiently depends on power. Often times when a disaster strikes, the power will go out. This always requires future planning in case the power goes out. Sometimes the solution is simple like you can buy a portable power battery for example. This battery can be good for several charges or require brief charge. It is nice to have a back up power ready. Remember, the power for your car or your generator can vary. They are all important to have but be aware of the hazards. Make sure you are prepared with instructions. It is important to plan ahead, don't wait for something to happen. Have everything ready in advance!

Video fades to a soft grey background with several different font types showing "NAD" in dark grey very quickly. Copyright video ends with the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) logo centered.]
