No captions, only American Sign Language; this is a early case of race discrimination with Charles and Dallas Locklayer who were kicked out of Alabama Deaf School after two weeks enrollment. All the clippings and census put together told a big story.
They were not listed in Alabama School annual report, 1879-1880, possibly to cover up what had happened.
