We know Jesus was mistreated, flogged, crowned with thorns, spitted upon, and crucified. Was He a victim in a real sense? Was He so helpless that he really needed someone to carry the cross the rest of the way to Calvary? Some people feel sorry for Jesus, but He volunteered to suffer and save us from our sins and from the penalty that would be far worse than what He suffered physically.
