ALAN: Greetings from the NAD! My name is T. Alan Hurwitz. I am President Emeritus of the National Association of the Deaf. On behalf of the NAD Election Committee, it is my pleasure to announce a call for candidates to run for a position on the NAD Board. This is a great opportunity for you! The NAD is looking for people who wish to improve the quality of life of Deaf and Hard of Hearing People through its advocacy work.
There are four executive board positions available for election for a term of two years, 2018 - 2020:
1) President
2) Vice President
3) Secretary
4) Treasurer
There are also four representative positions available for election for a term of four years, 2018 – 2022:
1) Region 1
2) Region 2
3) Region 3
4) Region 4
There are two requirements for candidates:
1) You must be a NAD member for at least the last two years;
2) You must be a member of either a NAD affiliated State Association or a national organization affiliated with the NAD.
I encourage you to consider applying for a position, which you can do online. If you know someone who should apply, encourage them! The same link has more details about the NAD Election Standards and Procedures. The election will take place at the NAD Conference in Hartford, Connecticut, on Thursday, July 5, 2018.
