We want you to share what you know, experienced, want, or discovered at the next Biennial NAD Conference this July in Hartford, Connecticut! #NAD2018
VIDEO DESCRIPTION AND TRANSCRIPT: Lizzie is standing inside the conference room in front of community photos that are framed on a wall. A small white NAD logo appears on bottom right corner.
LIZZIE: The NAD Conferences are always amazing and full of many things to do like the Council of Representatives (COR), NAD@Night events, exhibit hall, however the most important element would be the workshops. So this video is for YOU, people who have information to share. We want you to come! Go ahead, submit your interest and apply to be one of the presenters at our next conference. The community is waiting for your workshop! Don't doubt yourself, we want you to share what you know! Whether it's about something you're involved with in our community, what research findings you have, your successful event -- there are so many possible reasons for you to share your information at this conference! We want you to submit! Our community values information sharing; we each benefit when we learn something new. There's no point in holding valuable information to ourselves. The key behind the NAD Conference is sharing information and giving resources. Topics can range from related information within our community to academic findings and research. No matter what topic you want to discuss, we want you to apply. The more complete your proposal(s) is/are, the better chances your workshop will be accepted. The more information, the better -- don't shy away from the details! The committee also needs completed workshop proposals in order to submit them for CEUs. Continuing Education Unit (CEUs) are for people who need specific hours to maintain their credentials, certificates, membership, etc. Even if you think you don't really care to have any CEUs for your workshops, it still will help those who want to go to your workshop and need to get CEUs while doing so. Our goal is to have all NAD Workshops to have CEUs so that those who need to earn CEUs can go to any workshop. For those who don't need CEUs can still benefit from going to the workshops. We have many workshop tracks and are delighted to have three partners to join us for #NAD2018. These partners are Registry of Interpreters (RID), Deaf In Government (DIG), and National Deaf Education Conference (NDEC). This is great news because this means more workshops and a variety of choices for people to attend. The deadline to submit your workshop(s) proposal is in January. The committee will screen and select by February. Contact the NAD if you have any questions about submitting your interest to share information at the conference. We look forward to the NAD Conference which will happen during the first week of July in 2018, this summer, in Hartford, Connecticut!
