Hello everyone!

This is Chris Haulmark, running for US House of Representatives in Kansas’s Third Congressional District.

Today, we are going to discuss North Korea.

Why is the North Korean government making threats with dangerous nuclear weapons?

First, let’s step back in time to the 1990s.

Do you remember Saddam Hussein in Iraq?

The USA had war to with Hussein’s government during the Desert Storm military operation during that time.

Later, Hussein willfully allowed the United Nations inspectors to enter into Iraq and conduct inspections, verifying the country no longer had nuclear weapons.

What happened after September 11, 2001?

Our previous President G.W. Bush invaded Iraq and took Hussein’s powers away.

There were no nuclear weapons available in Iraq to prevent America from invading.

Now you can understand why the North Korean government is holding onto their nuclear weapons, refusing to dismantle those weapons, preventing America from easily invading their country and removing the current regime.

We can see this is why the North Korean government continues its rhetoric- to prevent America from invading them.

I guarantee that if the United Nations’ inspectors entered North Korea and cleared the country of its nuclear weapons, our current government will invade the North Korean government, removing it from power.

It’s the same idea as a man armed with knife trapped into a corner.

This person threatens to kill anyone who comes too close to him.

A police officer could show up, armed with a handgun and decide to shoot the man, ending the threat.

What if the police officer had a different attitude?

Such as approaching the knife-wielding man more compassionately, deciding to obtain assistance from the man’s loved ones, requesting they negotiate with the dangerous man to surrender the knife and give up the threat.

A peace is reached, then the man’s life is saved, while the threat is reduced.

Saving lives is my philosophy!
