Hello everyone!

I’m Chris Haulmark, running for the US House of Representatives, in Kansas’s Third Congressional District.

Today’s vlog talks about what’s going on with the health care debate winding its way through Congress- more specifically in the Senate.

First, here’s a recap: Back at the beginning of this year, since March, the Republican leadership has relentlessly attempted and fought to pass a new healthcare law that would CHANGE Obama White House administration's signature law- ACA signed into law seven years ago.

Those Republicans have been trying to radically change that healthcare law by removing pre-existing conditions coverage required of private insurers in covering all patients.

Okay..

That group of evil Republican politicians have been trying and trying to pass a bill that will repeal and replace Obama’s ACA that was established as the law.

*thinking*

Keep in mind that the requirement for passing that disastrous bill that the Republicans are pushing to pass…let’s call it… I’lll go ahead and call it “Trumpcare.”

Okay?

So, the evil Republicans needed a supermajority of over 60 Senate votes to successfully pass their disastrous bill, but they have been continuously unable to gather enough votes.

There are currently 52 Republicans in the Senate.

The House of Representatives has successfully passed their version of “Trumpcare,” so the healthcare fight is IN the Senate.

Now..

Finally, before the summer recess, the evil Senate Republicans FAILED to pass their own version of Trumpcare.

Now, we are all witnessing what’s going on with the “Graham-Cassidy” bill.

Those two Republican Senators: Graham and Cassidy, wrote the bill to be slipped into the US 2018 federal budget reconciliation bill to be passed as part of our country’s federal budget.

Okay…

Now that means the evil Republicans only need at least 50 votes to be able to pass and FINALLY repeal and replace the ACA that Mr. Obama signed into law.

So that’s why you see the news media talking about what’s going on because, whooo… That Graham-Cassidy bill would be a disaster, which is what the evil Republicans are trying to do- sneaking in the bill on their part- which is a poison pill within the 2018 federal budget reconciliation bill.

There we have it…

Right now, so far we have a few Republicans saying they won’t vote for the Graham-Cassidy bill.

So we have that..

But the fight is not over, not at all!

We have to keep up the fight, fight by contacting OUR Senators and convince them to not to support the Graham-Cassidy bill until after the September 30, 2017 deadline, which is the expiration date for the 2018 federal budget reconciliation bill.

If the evil Republicans successfully slip in the poison pill, successfully passing with enough votes before September 30th, we’re done for!

Okay, I’m definitely not happy about that!

But if the Senate doesn’t pass the 2018 federal budget reconciliation bill with the Graham-Cassidy bill trapped inside, then what a relief!

After September 30, we will have successfully blocked the evil Republicans.

THAT’S GOOD!

So, hopefully this vlog helps us understand what’s going on in the healthcare debate.
