Hello everyone!
I am Chris Haulmark, running for Kansas's Third Congressional District!
It's a thrill to inform everyone that our campaign fundraised over $2,000 since announcing our Congressional run for representing us all.
Okay...
At last night's campaign event, an ASL interpreter was provided. Actually, here's a really funny story on what happened: Prior to last weekend, we scheduled an ASL interpreter and believed that assigned person would be present at last night’s event.
Instead, the assigned ASL interpreter had to cancel because his return from the Caribbean was was postponed from Sunday to Tuesday due to Hurricane Irma.
Bummer!
So we then rescheduled with another ASL interpreter during last weekend's hurricane.
Then yesterday morning, the rescheduled interpreter became ill.
Oh no!
So at the last minute, we scheduled another ASL interpreter as Plan C, from a local ASL interpreting agency- ASL Connections.
How cool and what a relief to confirm an ASL interpreter, just three hours before the event!
Both of us were there at the campaign event, during which I gave a short 15-minute presentation on my campaign while attempting to gain endorsement from Kansas City Our Revolution, the event sponsoring organization.
After the speech, I departed, being completely satisfied with the interpreting services.
Later, we learned that I did not get the endorsement.
That's fine!
So now, we are moving forward...so we want to inform the public that this is the first time an ASL interpreting service was paid for from our campaign funds!
Isn't that awesome?
I want to thank all of our supporters, and encourage more small campaign donations!
They help us so much in spreading our messages out to all Kansan voters!
