[Source Credit: Information presented in this video was largely adapted from various nutritionfacts.org videos (which are under a Creative Commons licensing that generously allows for reuse and remixing), as well as shamelessly sharing quotes from the brilliant Dr. Michael Greger’s newly released book on health, titled, “How Not To Die: Discover the Foods Scientifically Proven to Prevent and Reverse Disease.” As such, I cannot claim any credit for the brilliant information presented in the video — however — any mistakes made in the presentation of mentioned research is fully mine, and mine alone. Dr. Greger's book, HNTD, does a great job of systematically synthesizing information from past NutritionFacts.org videos — which are also nothing short of brilliant (NutritionFact videos are all CC) — as well as presenting tons of novel content. I highly encourage those interested to go out and buy Dr. Greger’s new book.]

This is a personal, passion-project that I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. I believe in the benefits of the free flow of information — if we know better, we can do better. To improve Health Literacy among persons whose primary, or preferred, language is ASL we must create more freely available content in that field.

To invest in a future where more Deaf/Coda/HoH individuals work in S.T.E.M. fields and turn around and contribute to the shared knowledge-pool of the Deaf and ASL community — we need interest-inspiring content that is accessible now. We need put into place positive-feedback loops that make the default occurrence, the correct occurrence; if you build it, they will come.
