Chad A. Ludwig introduces as an OAD President with a few updates.
1. City of Portland's Police Department's Directive 640.36 was written in rush over 3 years and they did not include the community input. OAD tries to get their attention in the past and nothing happen. Earlier in January of this year, City of Portland Police Department opened for community input on this Directive, OAD immediately sent them several pages letter expressing our concern on some language written in this Directive. We are keeping an eye as this continue to develop.
2. Western Oregon University is having free counseling session, it will be a practicum session between you and their graduate students who are studying to get their master degree in Rehabilitation and Counseling. 3. OAD will host board meeting on 3rd Saturday in February and 3rd Saturday in March. The meeting in March is an open meeting but the one in February is closed. If the general public wishes to attend to February's session, please feel free to send an email to Link to share your wanting to attend.
4. Oregon State Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) is hosting their advisory board meeting on April 20, 2017 in Portland.
5. Deaf, Deaf-Blind, DeafPlus and Hard of Hearing Legislative Awareness Day at State Capitol on February 24, 2017. We need you THERE to share your "need" for service and send the message to our legislature to recognize the need in our community.
