Call for Submissions: Deaf Identities and Places
ASLized July 26, 2016 in ASL 4 Subscribers Subscribe
Greetings!
Interested in earning $50 for a few minutes of your time? We want you to talk about how you developed your identity as a signing deaf person using American Sign Language (ASL).
Watch video for details; have questions? E-mail Octavian Robinson at Link
The goal is to increase knowledge about identity formation and the role of places in identity formation for deaf people who use ASL.
Students in my DFST 301 course will interpret the ASL into English with voice and captions, edit the videos if needed, then submit the videos to ASLized for dissemination so that others may learn about our journeys into 'deafhood.'
Thank you for your time!!!!
Our grant for this project is very small; only the first ten people will be able to earn the stipend of $50. We are hoping that this sample project will lead to a larger grant documenting the lives and experiences of deaf people.
DEADLINE: August 20, 2016
