President Barack Obama endorsed presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in a web video Thursday, June 9th. In the video he stated “"I don't think there's ever been someone so qualified to hold this office,".
His endorsement made note of the historic nature of Clinton's being the first female presidential nominee of a major political party. However, Obama was not the only high profile Democratic endorsement Clinton secured Thursday. Vice President Joe Biden endorsed Clinton at an event in Washington, and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren endorsed Clinton as well. The President’s support came just hours after Obama met with Sanders at the White House.
Not everyone was behind the endorsement though, with Donald Trump tweeting "Obama just endorsed Crooked Hillary. He wants four more years of Obama—but nobody else does! Hillary had quite a simple message to Trump: "Delete your account."
The President will campaign with Clinton next week in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
