Many dreams may come to an end at this year’s Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. 31 people tested positive for doping and other substances that were banned at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Even though the International Olympic Committee didn’t say where the athletes came from, and didn’t name any names. They stated, “All those athletes infringing from anti-doping rules will be banned from competing at the Olympic Games Rio 2016.”

This may be trouble for Russia, because their track and field athletes were banned from competing due to regular doping in the past. Dr. Grigory Rodchenkov stated that he worked for years in the anti-doping lab to help the Russian government develop banned substances for the country’s top athletes to use that enhanced their performances, but are undetectable. Their urines would be replaced with undetectable urine. The IOC will continue working hard to bring this issue to light and warn other Olympians that this will be taken very seriously.

LeBron James, a famed basketball player, just made a new endorsement deal that’s worth about $1 billion with the shoe company Nike.

Their hope is he makes even more. And our hope is that, too, obviously.” This is the deal of a lifetime with Nike. LeBron is currently making $169 million a year playing basketball, and makes $44 million in endorsements annually. With this deal, James is one step closer to becoming the richest athlete of all time.
