If you missed last night’s “Dancing with the Starsâ€, don’t worry, I’ve got your recap. Last night Nyle DiMarco and Peta Jane Murgatroyd started off their red and black Paso Doble dance with a grand entrance by kicking down a chain linked fence.
Peta, wearing a red dress, did powerful moves with Nyle, dressed in a black suit. There were a lot of flashing lights as they danced to the song “Victorious†by the band, “Panic! At the Disco.â€
Back-up male dancers joined their performance while a single spotlight shone on Nyle. A moment of silence occurred during the song giving the audience a glimpse of what Nyle’s life is like.
Peta rejoined Nyle as they danced furiously, ending the performance with a chained link fence closed in around them. Let’s check it out:
Len did not hesitate to criticize the dance moves, as the crowd booed him. At the end, he applauded them for starting the performance with a purpose and confidence.
Bruno thought it was mind-blowing and he felt the silent sequence was very moving that no one will ever forget.
Carrie Ann thought the dance was amazing and has never seen anything like that before.
Nyle told Erin that he wanted to showcase his skill while giving an insight of what it is like to be deaf. Peta said that she wanted people to see what it was like in Nyle’s world.
Carrie Ann gave them a score of 10. Len gave a 9. Bruno handed up a score of 10 which means they have a total of 29 out of 30.
They did very amazing this week, and the silent part of their performance speaks volumes representing Deaf culture. Way to go, Nyle and Peta!
