Munchkin, a company that makes products for babies and children, is recalling its Latch Lightweight pacifiers because they can pose a choking hazard to babies. A small plastic piece that is part of a clip used to attach the pacifier to the child’s clothes can break loose. There have been five reports of the piece breaking loose but none of the children involved have been harmed.
Nearly 180,000 of the pacifiers were sold for $15 dollars or less at Walmart, Target, Babies ‘r’ Us and other stores in the United States and Canada.
The Consumer Protection Safety Commission says people should stop giving the pacifiers to children and contact Munchkin at www-dot-munchkin-dot-com for a replacement or refund.
Several patterns and colors are affected by the recall. Details can be found on the Commission’s website.
