ASL VLOG for the Deaf: This VLOG is about defending former President Jimmy Carter from a viewer who stated AIDS was discovered or known in 1977 under Jimmy Carter's watch, not President Ronald Reagan. Sounds like he was saying Carter should have done something but he didn't. I may be wrong but anyway, it was a cheap shot and very wrong! You have to live through 1977 to 1983 like I did to understand how information about AIDS came up and what it had been done to control the spreading of the dreadful disease. I lived through the dreadful period and remember it very well. As ex-President, Jimmy Carter had spoken out in defense of LGBT's rights including equality marriage. If you know where he stand on civil rights today, He would do something about AIDS back in 1970's if it was known and understood how dreadful the disease was, he would take action. AIDS was not well known in those days.
