Visual description of the video itself:
[Video shows a blue background with overlay of one of the buildings at Austin Community College. Austin Community College logo, (black capital letters spelling out the college name, with 5 colored star on left) shows in the middle of screen. From the left, a young Deaf Latina, enters the screen with a smile. She is wearing a blue short-sleeve t-shirt, jeans, pearl necklace, and her brown hair in a bun. She begins signing: "Hello, welcome to Austin Community College's ASL Class. Fade to black and several short video clips appear featuring various students, working on laptops, presenting in front of class, communicating with each other, and practicing their ASL delivery. Fades to black background with text that reads "In 2015, ASLized published a deck of cards featuring beautiful artwork created by various Deaf artists. ACC's ASL class decided to make these cards come alive by including them in their ASL Storytelling project!" Bottom of the text slide shows the multicolored ASL Playing Cards logo. Back to video showing students practicing their ASL stories, some are signing outside, others are recording videos on their cell phones, and video ends with a zoom to behind the instructor's desk where a green mat shows a single ASLized card facing down. The same young Deaf Latina reappears and narrates: "Our professor shared the [ASLized] cards with us and told us to pick one from her hand. Once we all chose our cards, we were challenged to incorporate these characters/illustrations into the stories we were building for a class project. So we've practiced signing, filming ourselves through several drafts, provide feedback, and then learn how to edit our videos. Enjoy our project!" She turns to her right and a video showing all the participating student storytellers showing their cards. For the next 30 seconds, there are edited clips of each student telling stories. Their stories, however, different from each other seem to be some how connected. SUN RISE- WAKE UP- RUN- OBSERVE- DOG- SLEEP- etc... facial expressions and role playing are obvious in the student's stories. Video fades to black and ACC's logo reappears displaying weblink to the program. Next, text displays: Video edited by SummaLove Films and ACC ASL students. Fade to black.]
