Video begins with David standing in front of an off-white wall. A small white NAD logo appears on the bottom right.
DAVID: Hello, I'm David O. Reynolds. I'm here to share an update from the Education Strategy Team (EST) and the sub-committee ASL-English Bilingual Schools and Programs (AEBSP). I'd like to mention two other people involved with me, Nancy Hlibok Amann and I co-chair on a sub-committee for EST and also, the EST chair is Tawny Holmes. The three of us have been busy working together on various plans. First, happening soon in February, we worked on setting up a nation-wide meeting for Deaf Education teacher preparation programs. About 15 universities are invited with the goal of building a foundation for ASL-English Bilingual programs. We will finally meet in New York City in February. This meeting is historic because this kind of meeting has never taken place before. So we're all very excited about this. Secondly, I'd like to share about the National Deaf Education Conference (NDEC) which will happen during the NAD Conference this summer in Phoenix. We want teachers of the deaf, deaf teachers, parents, families, and anyone else who is involved in Deaf Education to come to NDEC. This would be a prime opportunity to share ideas about ASL and English bilingual education. It's the place to be to network and discuss how we can improve education for deaf children in general. I'm very excited about NDEC! I hope to see many of you come because this is your opportunity. The NAD is thrilled to have NDEC involved. I hope to see you there.

ALICIA: Hello, I’m Alicia and I’ve been working with the Outreach committee. You may remember last summer we distributed a survey. You’ve probably filled it out. We got a good number of responses and now we’re working on analyzing the data. The purpose of the data is to help develop recommendations for the NAD board and headquarters. We want to learn how we can better engage the community, how we can better meet our goals with messaging and so forth. Because there is a lot of information and it is a lot of work to assess the data in a short amount of time, we’ve appointed a new co-chair. Corey Axelrod will continue as chair and the new appointed co-chair is Nick Gould. They will work together to move forward and wrap up the committee’s work. I am thankful to the chairs for volunteering their time and the committee members who are from all over the U.S., I am incredibly thankful to them for volunteering their time. We really look forward to analyzing our data and finding out how we can better serve you.
Video fades to a soft white background with several different font types showing "NAD" very quickly. Copyright video ends with the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) logo centered.
